>>Police Immediately Focused On Husband Of Missing Woman

(West Valley City, UT) -- Newly released documents from the West Valley City police department show investigators immediately focused their attention on Josh Powell after his wife, Susan, disappeared. The "Deseret News" reports parts of the documents are still redacted, but they clearly show police were concerned about Josh Powell's odd behavior. His behavior, along with statements by one of his sons, and evidence collected inside the Powell home led to an official criminal investigation two days after Susan was reported missing.

(Spanish Fork)-
A collision along Highway 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon killed a 64-year-old woman and injured several people Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened at 2:42 p.m. near mile post 193, just east of U.S. 89. Utah Highway Patrol troopers say one vehicle heading eastbound crossed into the opposite lane striking another vehicle.
UHP says Deanne Rogers of Idaho was killed after being ejected from the vehicle.
Troopers say the driver that crossed his vehicle into the other lane, 40-year-old Thomas Apodaca from New Mexico, told them he fell asleep at the wheel.
A 10-year-old boy suffered serious injuries. The five others involved had only minor injuries. All victims were wearing seat belts.

(Wendover Utah)-A woman died after her car rolled off Interstate 80 near the Nevada-Utah border.
The woman, 21, was driving west about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday when her car went off the right shoulder. The woman over-corrected to the left, and the car rolled several times in the median. The driver-side door opened while the car was rolling, exposing the woman to traumatic injuries, troopers wrote. She was wearing a seat belt.
The woman died while she was being taken to a hospital in an ambulance.

>>Utah Named Most Livable State In Future

(Undated) -- A new poll is naming Utah the most livable state in the country in the coming years. The Gallup poll was based on responses from more than a half-million Americans in all 50 states. Utah had top scores in 13 categories covering areas like smoking rates, clean water, positive work relationship, daily learning and an overall perception that the state was getting better, not getting worse. Minnesota was the second most-livable state. Colorado made the top five.

>>Herbert To Wait Until After Election To Decide Medicaid Expansion

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Utah Governor Gary Herbert is going to wait until after the Presidential election before he decides what to do about the expansion of Medicaid in Utah. His reasoning is that President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney each have different views on the future of health care, so the prudent choice would be to wait to see who wins. Under the Affordable Care Act, states can extend a government-run insurance to people who are ineligible beginning in 2014.
Former Springville Mayor and prominent businessman, Harold Wing died Monday from heart complications at the age of 72. Wing, a Utah native, is known globally as the founder of
Wing Enterprises, creator of "The Little Giant Ladder System." Wing's business was inspired by a German ladder prototype in the 1970s. He brought the idea back to the United States, patented it and began Wing Enterprises in his garage. Within the first year, he sold more than a half a million dollars worth of ladders.
(Salt Lake)- Peter Cooke, the Democratic candidate for governor, challenged Gov. Gary Herbert to seven debates around the state over the next three months — an offer that the Herbert campaign wouldn’t agree to, at least not yet.
So far, the candidates have agreed to one debate hosted by the Utah League of Cities and Towns in Salt Lake City on Sept. 14.
Cooke said other civic groups and media outlets have indicated they would like to be involved in the gubernatorial debates.
