>>West Valley Denies Powell Family Request For Police Records

(West Valley City, UT) -- The West Valley City Council is turning down a request from Susan Powell's family for more access to police records of her disappearance. The council specifically declined to release the records, saying they could potentially hamper an ongoing investigation. Potentially, the Powell family wants to see the records for more clues in her disappearance and to potentially use them in a civil lawsuit. Powell disappeared in December 2009 and her husband, Josh, who later killed himself and the couple's two children, was the only person of interest.

Monticello Utah-
Wildlife biologists recently euthanized a mule deer buck that had epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD). The buck was found in the Manti-La Sal National Forest southwest of Monticello. The deer was walking in circles when the biologists found it Aug. 3.
EHD does not affect people, but it can affect deer if it spreads. Because the area where the deer was found in is fairly remote, Division of Wildlife biologists are asking the public to be their eyes and ears and to report it to the DWR office in Price at (435) 613-3700.
Leslie McFarlane, wildlife disease coordinator for the DWR, says 2007 was the last time EHD was documented in Utah.
