>>Men Burned On Boat Recovering

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Two men are recovering from burns suffered during a flash fire aboard a shrimp boat. Authorities said the men were about to go looking for brine shrimp when a fire started in the boat's engine. One of the two men suffered very severe burns, while the boat suffered minor damage.

>>Principal Apologizes For Homecoming Hemline Drama

(Stansbury Park, UT) -- Stansbury High School will have to stage a free homecoming dance after a hemline debacle sent several girls home from the dance over the weekend. The school's principal apologized to the students Monday for an ambiguous dress code. Numerous girls, wearing dresses at or just above the knee, were turned away from the homecoming dance Saturday because educators believed the dresses were too short.

>>DA: Candidate Violated Campaign Finance Laws

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- A candidate for Salt Lake County Mayor has been ordered to return some campaign contributions. The district attorney has said that Republican candidate Mark Crockett violated campaign finance rules. Crockett needs to return the funds or he could face criminal charges. Crockett told FOX-13 that the whole thing is a misunderstanding.

>>Groundbreaking For Children's Museum

(Lehi, UT) -- Shovels broke ground yesterday on what will become the state's largest children's museum. The multi-million-dollar project will go up at Thanksgiving Point on a five-acre piece of land. The Museum of Natural Curiosity will feature 150 exhibits. It is expected to be complete in 2014.

>>Base Jumper Gets Snagged On Canyon Cliff

(Provo, UT) -- Rescue crews in Provo are working to retrieve a base jumper caught dangling high in the air from a canyon cliff. Utah County Sheriff's officials say the base jumper's parachute apparently got snagged on a cliff face near the mouth of Provo Canyon a little before 8 p.m. The cliff is believed to be one-thousand-feet above ground and crews were trying to determine the best way to get the jumper.

>>Dow Jones Poll: Fourth District Race Heating Up

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- The race for the Utah's Fourth Congressional District is heating up. KSL-TV cites a new poll by Dow Jones which has Republican candidate Mia Love leading Democratic Representative Jim Matheson by a margin of six-points. With a margin of error of five-percent experts say the election will likely be too close to predict.

>>Shelter's Winter Facility Opens Early

(Midvale, UT) -- Officials with Salt Lake City's downtown homeless shelter Road Home are opening their winter facility in Midvale earlier than usual. The Midvale facility is where more than 60 families can find safe and temporary housing during the bitterly-cold winter months. The Midvale home was formerly where overflow families would be housed.


SALT LAKE CITY — A new poll shows Republican Mia Love is leading Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson in the race for Utah's 4th Congressional District seat.
The according to the new Dan Jones poll for KSL and the Deseret News, Love has a six-point edge over the congressman.

(Moab Utah)- A tense hour yesterday afternoon for a Moab area family when they thought their two and a half year old girl disappeared from their home. The reported a massive search effort by the Grand County Sheriff's office with the aid of Moab Police, volunteer firefighters and search and rescue team members. A research of the home, however found the girl inside the home but hidden from the first search asttemp. She is ok.
